Yitian Luanwas nominated by »Opernwelt« as the ''best young singing talent of 2012''. The chinese soprano has been a prizewinner at several renowned international competitions. In 2010, she won 1st. Prize for Operetta and the Paris Opera Special Prize at the International»Hans Gabor Belvedere«Singing Competitionin Vienna. In 2011, she was awarded 2nd. Prize at the International»Belcanto«Singing Competitionin Passau, and in 2012 the 3rd. Prize and the special Prize of the European Singing Competition»Debut«in Weikersheim. In 2013 she won 2nd. Prize and the audience Prize at the International»ArtOpera«Singing Competitionin Frankfurt.
At the State Theatre Nürnberg she celebrated great successes in the 2018/19 season with the title role of the»Norma«, she is currently a resident guest at the Theater Niederbayern. In the series of Tudor operas performed there she has sang Annain»Anna Bolena«, Maryin »Maria Stuarda«, Elisabetta in »Roberto Devereux«and Lucreziain »Lucrezia Borgia«by the bel canto master Gaetano Donizetti. For her outstanding performance of the title role in »Lucia di Lammermoor«she was awarded the "Sponsor Club-Theater Preis" 2014/15 at the Saarland State Theatre. She also sang this role with great success at the summer festival of the Opera på Skäret in Sweden. In a concert performance with the Dresden Philharmonic, she sang Prima Donnain »Viva la Mamma«, which she also sang at the Landestheater Salzburg.
Yitian Luan sang with great success at the Bregenz Festivalas Liùin»Turandot«during both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. She made her debut at the Vienna Volksoper as Laurettain »Gianni Schicchi«,at Theatre Bern as Donna Anna in »Don Giovanni«, and Gildain »Rigoletto«andErste Damein »Die Zauberflöte« at the Cologne Opera. Other notable performances include the Olympia, Antonia,Giulietta, Stellain »Les Contes d`Hoffmann«at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and at the Staatstheater Schwerin. At the National Centre for the Performing Arts Peking (NCPA) she appeared as Liùin »Turandot«, as Rosalindein »Die Fledermaus«and as Oscarin »Un ballo in maschera«. Cio-Cio-Sanin »Madame Butterfly«, Violettain »La Traviata«,Konstanzein »Die Entführung aus dem Serail«,Mimìin »La Bohème«, Miin »Das Land des Lächelns« also belong to her repertoire.
From 2012 until 2017 Yitian Luan was a Soprano soloist on a fixed contract at the at the Saarland State Theatre. Other roles there included Donna Annain »Don Giovanni«, Alice Fordin »Falstaff«, Adina in »L'elisir d'amore«, Four Ladies in »Les Contes d’Hoffmann«, Gretelin »Hänsel und Gretel«, La Foliein Rameau’s »Platée«, Miss Jesselin Britten’s »The Turn of the Screw«, 1. Niecein »Peter Grimes«, Königin von Schemachain Rimski-Korsakov’s »Der goldene Hahn«and Prinzessinin Nino Rotas »Aladin und die Wunderlampe«.
Yitian Luan has sung in many important Concert Halls including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Busan Philharmonic, the cultural Palace Dresden, the Herkulessaal Munich, the concert hall Berlin, the Müpa Budapest, le Nouveau Siècle à Lille and the Concerthall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Peking. She has also worked with many renowned conductors including Myung-Whun Chung, Yoel Levi, Paolo Carignani, Alain Altinoglu, Asher Fisch and Axel Kober in Lied, Opera Galas and Oratorio. She has given Concert tours in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, China, Taiwan and Korea. In 2010 she performed in several Gala Concerts of the Shanghai World Expo Music Festival.
Yitian Luan studied singing in Germany; obtaining her Diploma at the Music Academy Detmold and her postgraduate study Konzertexamen Singing at the Music Academy Cologne, both with Distinction.She works as a vocal lecturer at the Academy of Music Passau and as a vocal coach of young professional singers. She gave a Masterclass at Liaoning Normal University of Music and a Workshop at the State Song and Dance Ensemble in Dalian, China.
