Yitian Luan was nominated by »Opernwelt« as ''best young singing talent of 2012''. The chinese soprano has been a prizewinner at several renowned international competitions. In 2010, she won 1st Prize for Operetta and the Paris Opera special Prize at the International »Hans Gabor Belvedere« Singing Competition in Vienna. In 2011, she was awarded 2nd. Prize at the International »Belcanto« Singing Competition in Passau, and in 2012 the 3rd. Prize and the special Prize of the European Singing Competition »Debut« in Weikersheim. In 2013 she won 2nd Prize and the audience Prize at the International »ArtOpera« Singing Competition in Frankfurt.
Yitian Luan sang with great success at the Bregenz Festival 2015&2016 as Liù in »Turandot«. She made her Debut at the Vienna Volksoper as Lauretta in »Gianni Schicchi« and Gilda in »Rigoletto« and Erste Dame in »Die Zauberflöte« at the Cologne Opera. She also sang with great success the title role in »Lucia di Lammermoor« at Opera på Skäret Summer Festival in Sweden. Other notable performances include the Prima Donna in »Viva la Mamma« with the Dresdener Philharmonic. Olympia, Antonia, Giulietta, Stella in »Les Contes d`Hoffmann« at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. At the National Centre for the Performing Arts Peking (NCPA) she appeared as Liù in »Turandot«, as Rosalinde in »Die Fledermaus« and as Oscar in »Un ballo in maschera«. Violetta in »La Traviata«, Konstanze in »Die Entführung aus dem Serail«, Mimì in »La Bohème« also belong to her repertoire.
From 2012 until 2017 Yitian Luan was a Soprano solist on a fixed contract at the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken. For her excellent portrayal of the title role in »Lucia di Lammermoor« she was awarded the “Sponsor Club Theatre Prize” 2014/15. Other roles there included Donna Anna in »Don Giovanni«, Alice Ford in »Falstaff«, Adina in »L'elisir d'amore«, Four Ladies in »Les Contes d’Hoffmann«, Gretel in »Hänsel und Gretel«, La Folie in Rameau’s »Platée«, Miss Jessel in Britten’s »The Turn of the Screw«, 1. Niece in »Peter Grimes«, Königin von Schemacha in Rimski-Korsakov’s »Der goldene Hahn« and Prinzessin in Nino Rotas »Aladin und die Wunderlampe«.
Yitian Luan has sung in many important Concert Halls including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Busan Philharmonic, the cultural Palace Dresden, the Herkulessaal Munich, the Concerthall Berlin and the Concerthall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Peking. She also worked with renowned conductors including Myung-Whun Chung, Yoel Levi, Paolo Carignani, Alain Altinoglu, Asher Fisch and Axel Kober in Lied, Opera Galas and Oratorio. She has given Concert tours in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, China, Taiwan and Korea. In 2010 she performed in several Gala Concerts of the Shanghai World Expo Music Festival.
Yitian Luan studied singing in Germany; obtaining her Diploma at the Music Academy Detmold and her postgraduate study Konzertexamen Singing and the Music Academy Cologne, both with Distinction.
